How to add the Recording tab to PowerPoint

Please note: The most recent version of PowerPoint allows you to record from the SlideShow tab as well. Record a slide show with narration and slide timings

To record in PowerPoint, we recommend using the PowerPoint Recording tab. If you do not see the Recording tab in PowerPoint, then you will need to add it. To add the Recording tab to PowerPoint,

Click File

Click the File tab.

Click Options

Click Options. The PowerPoint Options window will appear.

Add the Recording tab

Click Customize Ribbon [1].
Check Recording [2].
Click OK [3]. The Recording tab will now appear in ribbon section.

Recording Ribbon Not Present

If you are using a computer managed by Seminole State College and do not see the Recording option, please contact the CTS Helpdesk and request an updated version of PowerPoint.

If you are using a personal computer and do not see the Recording option, you can download Microsoft Office, which includes the latest version of PowerPoint, for free from your Seminole State email. Sign in to https://www.office.com and click Install Office Apps.
