Displaying Course Letter Grade for Students

To show display the course letter grade to students in Canvas, faculty will need to

  1. Set a Grading Scheme
  2. Unhide Totals in student grades summary

Set a grading scheme

  1. Click Settings in the left-hand navigation. The course settings page will appear.

  2. In the Course Details tab, find Grading Scheme and click the checkbox for Enable course grading scheme.
  3. Click the link for Set grading scheme. The View/Edit Grading Scheme window will appear.
  4. Click Select another scheme and choose one of the options titled Letter Grades. A preview of the grading scheme will appear.
  5. Click Use This Grading Scheme.
  6. Click Done. 

Unhide Totals in student grades summary

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the same [Course Details] screen.
  2. Click More options.
  3. Uncheck Hide totals in student grades summary.
  4. Click Update Course Summary.
