On occasion, it is necessary to deliver an MP4 video file from your Panopto recording to another department, such as the college's Marketing department, Web Services team, or Media Services team. Often a downloaded MP4 video file will be too large to send as an email attachment. In this case, you can email the direct link to the MP4
Open the Settings window
Locate your videos in Panopto and click the Gear in the video list or in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. The Settings window will appear.
Click Outputs
Click Outputs to open the Outputs window
Click View Podcast
In the Video Podcast area, click View Podcast. The MP4 file will open in another browser window.
Review the video
Play the video in the browser window.
Copy the Video Address
If the video's layout is as desired, copy the link from the address bar (or right-click on the video and click Copy link address/location), and send the link to the desired department.
Changing the video's layout
Select the desired layout type
If the layout is not as desired go back to the Output window and in the Type area select the desired type of layout.
- Primary Video Only (generally, the main presenter)
- Secondary Video Only (generally, the Shared screen with the presenter's voice)
- Picture-In-Picture (the presenter in the bottom corner of the shared screen)
- Side-by-Side (the presenter to the side of the shared screen)
- Tile-All Streams (rarely used, but useful when 3 or more video streams are present in the recording.)
Click Apply
Click Apply to apply the changes. The MP4 video will reprocess.
Review the video
After the video reprocesses, click View Podcast, Play the video in the browser window.
Copy the Video Address
If the video's layout is as desired, copy the link from the address bar (or right-click on the video and click Copy link address/location), and send the link to the desired department.

Save the MP4
To save an MP4 video from a direct link either right-click and choose Save/Download or press Ctrl-S (or Command-S on a Mac) to save the MP4 to your computer.
